Special Sunflower Fertilizers Made the Farmers Happy
With its aim to increase yield and quality in agricultural production by using plant and soil specific fertilizers, GÜBRETAŞ harvested the test planting in Konya this year. Using the specific fertilizer for sunflowers, the test planting in Altınekin yielded better quality and richer crops than Turkey’s average.
GÜBRETAŞ continues to lead the industry with the R&D studies done in the recent years. GÜBRETAŞ, who is continuing its R&D activities to increase crop yield and quality with balanced nourishment, tested the new, specific sunflower fertilizers. The harvesting of the test planting, using a specifically developed fertilizer according to soil analysis tests which was applied in a 10 decare area, showed a 520 kg of crop yield per decare.
It even surpassed the average local yield of 400 kg per decare by %30 and the oil rates -which is the decisive factor in sunflower quality- of the crops was %47. This number is also above Turkey’s average… The base rate of oil in sunflowers are considered %40 and manufacturers are paid extra for any figures above this. These results help farmers make a higher profit with better quality and richer crops.
THE TEST PLANTING’S RESULTS IN KONYA ARE PLEASING
GÜBRETAŞ General Manager Osman Balta evaluated the results and said that, it has become very important to get the maximum output from every unit in order to compete with the world. He also said that the leading company in product diversity GÜBRETAŞ is trying to enrich the nationwide agriculture and in order to get high yield and better quality crops, having a soil analysis done is a must.
Osman Balta said that the special fertilizer developed for areas with high sunflower production was tested in the pilot zone Konya with this test planting and added: “The plant nourishment plan created by our expert agricultural engineers formulized a pattern of 13.18.15+ 2 (MgO) + 10 (SO3) as bottom fertilizers. Along with the high yield, this fertilizer also increases the oil rate in sunflowers which is the quality criteria for the plant. This special GÜBRETAŞ fertilizer includes 5 different plant nutrients that the sunflower needs while the classic fertilizers only have 3 plant nutrients in them. The harvest result shows a 520 kg of sunflower per decare and surpasses Turkey’s average. This increase in yield also made our farmers happy.”
IN ORDER TO GET MAXIMUM FERTILITY AND QUALITY, GÜBRETAŞ DEVELOPS SPECIFIC FERTILIZERS CONSIDERING THE SOIL STRUCTURE OF THE AREA
Turkey imports 3 billion TL worth of oil seeds because it cannot meet its needs with in-country production. Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock supports the local oil seed manufacturers in order to reduce the current deficit.In this sense, GÜBRETAŞ develops special fertilizers for different plants to increase yield and quality. Fertilizers which are formulized with company’s R&D studies, are specifically developed for plants and soils to increase the yield with balanced nourishments. For this purpose, first, samples are taken from the soil and are analyzed to detect the structure of the soil. Along with the soil structure, the needs of the plant are taken into consideration and a specific fertilizer pattern is determined. The balanced plant nourishment plan which consists of special products is tested in fields.
Needs of the plant and the structure of the soil determines the amount of the fertilizer, not the manufacturers’ habits. Thus, by making full use of every plant nourishing agent in the fertilizers, input costs are reduced and maximum yield is gained from every plant.
