Our third laboratory opened in İzmir
GÜBRETAŞ, a sector leader also thanks to its Research and Development activities, now consists of another fully equipped modern analysis laboratory in İzmit, Yarımca. The third analysis laboratory of the “Fastest Growing Company” of Turkey was put into service in İzmir.
The ceremony was held at the İzmir-Aliağa plants of GÜBRETAŞ on June 23, 2011 with participation of General Director of the Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and GÜBRETAŞ Chairman of Board of Directors Abdullah Kutlu, members of boards of directors, GÜBRETAŞ General Director Mehmet Koca, Deputy General Director Tahir Okutan, Product Development and Quality Manager Muharrem Akyıldız, Aegean University, Agricultural Faculty lecturer Prof. Dr. Yusuf Kurucu and company managers.
As part of opening ceremony, Deputy General Director Tahir Okutan gave information on laboratories and then GÜBRETAŞ General Director Mehmet Koca stated that those laboratories were important steps in terms of ensuring sustainability of quality and confidence understanding of the company. Mehmet Koca said, “While furnishing soil analysis services through its laboratories which were authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, GÜBRETAŞ has been also improving its product diversity and quality aimed at increasing agricultural productivity thanks to its Research and Development activities in recent years. Furthermore, our laboratory in Yarımca is one of the two reference laboratories in Turkey with regard to fertilizer analysis. The sector leadership of our country will continue thanks to our history dating back to 59 years and our social responsibility consciousness.”
Speaking at the ceremony, GÜBRETAŞ Chairman of Board of Directors Abdullah Kutlu said that the company not only meets chemical fertilizer needs, but also tries to get into more depth in all dimensions of sector. Abdullah Kutlu said, “We aim to boost the product and service quality with our efforts related to training activities aimed at scientific analyses and raising awareness in the agricultural sector, because we believe that investments made in education and science are the most important ones. What’s more, we boost total productivity thanks to these laboratories.”
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, participants were provided with information on technical equipment in the laboratory and its work to be carried out in the future. The ceremony ended with a cocktail and managers attending the ceremony carried out analyses at logistics departments and liquid-powder fertilizer production plants in İzmir.
AN IMPORTANT INVESTMENT FOR THE AEGEAN REGION
GÜBRETAŞ’ laboratory in İzmir will carry out fertilizer, soil, leaf and water analyses, raw material, goods, operations, all types of soil and ship analyses, as well as analyses on products from shipping points and auxiliary products. Furthermore, the laboratory aims to be authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture as a soil analysis laboratory and accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) as part of ISO 17025.
The laboratory in İzmir was equipped with cutting-edge technology and tools in order to carry out soil and fertilizer analyses. All of the tools and equipment used at the laboratory were carefully chosen so that analyses could be carried out in the most appropriate way and employees could enjoy the healthiest working atmosphere.
LABORATORY IN YARIMCA MEETS INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
GÜBRETAŞ’ laboratory in Yarımca, accredited by TÜRKAK in 2009, has been furnishing service as a reference laboratory in fertilizer analyses along with the TSE Ankara laboratory. All sorts of fertilizer analyses requested by foreign customers have been carried out at the Yarımca laboratory which has proved to be qualified in terms of fertilizer analyses and its infrastructure has been strengthened with cutting-edge and modern analyses devices.
The work covered by “Turkey’s Soil Productivity Analysis Laboratory” Project which was initiated as a social responsibility project by the company at the Soil Analyses Laboratory in Yarımca, authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, is also underway. As part of the project, GÜBRETAŞ has been performing soil analyses since 2005.
Furthermore, imported and domestic fertilizer analyses, quality control analyses prior to shipping to dealers and cooperatives, auxiliary product analyses and fertilizer and soil sample analyses requested by from foreign customers are carried out at the laboratory in İskenderun, namely, the first laboratory of GÜBRETAŞ. The analyses in an average of 50 parameters are carried out per day at the Yarımca and İskenderun Fertilizer Laboratories.
