Another first from GÜBRETAŞ: Special fertilizer for industrial cannabis agriculture
GÜBRETAŞ has recently developed a special base fertilizer for reclaimed industrial cannabis plants, which came to the fore with the permission to expand the production area in our country. At the same time, the fertilizer contains boron element, which is one of the important underground riches of our country, provides high yield increase by meeting the plant nutrients needed in hemp agriculture in the right ratio. Although the fiber or seed of the cultivated cannabis plant has an important place in many sectors from the pharmaceutical industry to the paper, from textile to construction, its production in our country has decreased considerably in recent years. With the regulation published in September 2016, cannabis cultivation which is allowed in controlled manner in 19 provinces is expected to increase again in the coming years and to contribute as input to other industrial sectors.

GÜBRETAŞ BREAKS NEW GROUNDS AGAIN: CANNABIS SPECIFIC FERTILIZER: K-EXPER
GÜBRETAŞ has recently completed its R&D studies for the formula that will provide a balanced feed in industrial cannabis agriculture, which has been frequently brought up in the recent period and is licensed to expand its production in 19 provinces, and added a special fertilizer that provides the highest yield from the unit area to the sector.
Developed considering nutrient needs of the cannabis and the presence of soil nutrients of Turkey, the bottom fertilizer has 12/16/12 + 12 (SO3) with +0,2 B formulations. This special base fertilizer developed by GÜBRETAŞ for industrial cannabis cultivation will be introduced to the market with the K-EXPERT brand.

İbrahim Yumaklı, General Manager of GÜBRETAŞ, who shares his opinions on the subject, states they continue to produce added value with special fertilizers that provide high yield increase in agriculture field and that “ we have taken a very important step for the use of national resources of Turkey for the contribution of a special fertilizer for industrial cannabis agriculture thanks to result of the joint efforts of our experienced agricultural engineers and experienced R&D team.”
Stating that maximum yield and quality will be achieved in the cultivation of hemp cultivated for fiber and seed purposes with this special fertilizer they have developed, Yumaklı says, “Cannabis is a plant that provides high yield and superior quality product harvest with balanced feeding. According to the research conducted by our team, it is understood that the potassium consumed by the plant is completely ignored in the feeding with classical fertilizers for high seed yield and high quality fiber production. Our new product, which contains the nutrients necessary for the healthy development of cannabis plant, contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulfur as well as boron which is one of the important underground riches of our country. This special product is a starting fertilizer that can be recommended for many plants besides hemp with its balanced pattern.”
General Manager Yumaklı emphasizes they not only developed a new product and worked for spreading it with conscious agriculture. “In addition, GÜBRETAŞ expert agricultural engineers created a feeding program for producers to feed industrial cannabis plants in a balanced way. TURKEY RANKS 17 IN THE PRODUCTION OF IMPROVED CANNABIS
İbrahim Yumaklı points out that improved cannabis is an important industrial input that can be used as a raw material in many different sectors such as fiber or seed and pharmaceuticals, papermaking, construction and textiles:
“According to FAO data, Turkey’s cannabis cultivation areas were over 200 thousand hectares in 1960 and cannabis cultivation areas have decreased in years and according to the data of TSI cannabis cultivation was carried out only in a district of Samsun in a 100 decare area in 2018. It is important to increase the production of such an important agricultural plant that can provide added value to the domestic and national industrial sector. In fact, a regulation was published on the cultivation of industrial cannabis in 19 provinces of Turkey in 2016 in a controlled manner. We are also keeping in mind the needs of the world cannabis production sector and we aim to increase the use of special fertilizer efficiency of Turkey, which ranks 17th, in this field. We will contribute to increasing the fiber yield of 100-110 kg per decare in our country above the world average of 230 kg / decare in cannabis agriculture as we have shown in other agricultural products.
Cannabis is grown for seeds and fiber. The widespread use of cannabis plants in our country is related to the more efficient use of the fiber plant feature of cannabis. It is a very important move in order to reduce dependence on foreign production and contribute to employment. Although all the needs of the paper sector are met, industrial investments will come with the possibility of raw materials in other fields as well. That the post-production industry of cannabis is not widespread is an obstacle for starting. In fiber plants, the industry is not common in all species except for cotton. However, after this increase in agricultural products, it is expected that there will be significant gains in employment and industrial development.
When reproducing the prevalence and increase in yield in cultivated industrial cannabis thanks to conscious agricultural production, the output of this plant in fiber and seed form is also used in pharmaceutical, papermaking, construction and textile sectors as well as biodegradable polymers, animal feed and litter, oils and fuel. important input will be provided for domestic production as raw material. ”
GÜBRETAŞ ADDING VALUE TO AGRICULTURE WITH PLANT NUTRITION PRODUCTS CONTAINING BORON
Cannabis fertilizer, newly developed by GÜBRETAŞ, also draws attention with its “boron” element.
General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı suggests Boron fertilizer has a very deep experience in the recent “boron fertilizer.“ Boron containing fertilizers are presented as a new invention, but our industry leader company has been contributing to the agricultural sector with boron products and boron containing fertilizers for years. Since 1994, when we started producing liquid-powder fertilizer, we have developed special products besides conventional fertilizers. Especially in the last 20 years, drip irrigation and foliar fertilizers are among the products containing boron according to the needs of soil and plant. ”
Yumaklı further explains that they have been continuing their R&D studies for more use of domestic inputs in the production of chemical fertilizers and points out that GÜBRETAŞ increases the number of plant nutrition products containing boron element which is one of the important underground riches of our country. İbrahim Yumaklı states, “We added a new product with cannabis fertilizer to our product portfolio that includes more than 10 fertilizers containing boron. Plant and region-specific bottom fertilizers such as ALTIN ÇİÇEK–S, SÜPER PANCAR–S, ÇOTANAK FERTİL and SÜPER ÇOTANAK for nuts, sunflower, sugar beet and hazelnut cultivation which needs boron element in development period agriculture, considering Turkey’s soil structure and nutrient needs of plants development, are produced with boron element. Besides these fertilizers, GÜBRETAŞ also has some products such as DERMİN, BOR, BOR-8, COMBİ, COMBİ PLUS and MICRO plants used in drip irrigation and foliar feeding products containing different rates of boron in its product portfolio.
Noting an important point about the use of boron in agriculture, Yumaklı says, “Boron is consumed at a very low dose by the plant. However, the effects are very important compared to this low amount consumed. The effect of boron on plants can be very sudden and sharp. The boron element, which has a very narrow deficiency and toxicity range, should be used with caution and over-use should be avoided with due care.
