GÜBRETAŞ rises in the league of industrial giants
Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) publicized the results of the 500 Biggest Industrial Companies of Turkey survey. According to the evaluation made by ICI on 2008 data, GÜBRETAŞ continued its rise among the top 100 companies in terms of net sales revenues, and staged a remarkable jump in the sales from production category.
GÜBRETAŞ ranked 55th among all companies and 51st among private companies. Last year GÜBRETAŞ ranked 74th in this category.
In the sales from production category GÜBRETAŞ staged a remarkable jump. While it ranked 240th last year in the list, this year got the 147th place by rising 93 spots.
In early July, GÜBRETAŞ was announced to be the 43th biggest company of Turkey in Fortune 500. Fortune 500 ranking was based on net sales, followed by rankings in terms of profit-loss, total assets, equity capital, profitability and exports. Revenues generated from activities abroad too were included in the net sales revenues.
In the ICI 500 survey, on the other hand, sales from domestic production is taken as measure. Net sales revenues, gross value-added, equity capital, net assets, profits in period and exports were other categories of ranking.
