Irfan Güvendi, General Manager of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and Chairman of GÜBRETAŞ, suggests the most suitable fertilizer pattern for pistachios has been created as a result of R&D studies. Şükrü Kutlu, the General Manager of GÜBRETAŞ, also states they support the farmers with plant-specific products.
GÜBRETAŞ, one of the leading brands in the agricultural sector, continues to create fertilizer formulation suitable for the plant and the region with its 64 years of knowledge and experience. GÜBRETAŞ has recently introduced Green Gold fertilizer specially formulated for Pistachio in a meeting held in Dedeman Hotel in Gaziantep. Gaziantep Deputy Mayor Turgay Ergin, Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Şahin, General Manager of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and GÜBRETAŞ Chairman Irfan Güvendi, General Manager of GÜBRETAŞ Şükrü Kutlu, Provincial Director of Agriculture Food and Livestock Mehmet Karayılan and managers of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, dealers, agricultural engineers and more than 500 guests from pistachio producers attends the meeting.
THE MOST SUITABLE FERTILIZER PATTERN HAS BEEN CREATED
General Manager of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and GÜBRETAŞ Chairman of the Board of Directors Irfan Güvendi says they try to serve the country’s agriculture in the best possible way with the company and other subsidiaries. Güvendi says Turkey is one of the main centers of production in Pistachio agriculture: In recent years, GÜBRETAŞ has been working to increase productivity in agriculture through its R&D studies and has developed a special product for farmers in this region to obtain efficient and high-quality pistachio harvests. We have formulated fertilizer for Pistachio on request from Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality. For this purpose, the soils in the pistachio-grown regions were analyzed and the most suitable fertilizer pattern was created by evaluating the plant nutrients removed by the pistachio. Following the meetings with the Directorate of Pistachio Research Institute, Green Gold fertilizer, which will increase the yield and quality of pistachio, emerged as the fruit of these studies. ”
Güvendi also explains that they are quite happy and honoured that they, as GÜBRETAŞ, will contribute to economic prosperity in the region thanks to the quality and efficiency achieved in Pistachio production, which is of high importance for Turkey.
WE SHOULD FOCUS ON PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY
Şükrü Kutlu, the General Manager of GÜBRETAŞ, suggests efficiency and quality should be focused on for sustainable agriculture and competition with the globe. Suggesting GÜBRETAŞ, which has been growing in every field in recent years, has undertaken important works in order to increase the service quality and product variety, Şükrü Kutlu points out the importance of balanced and regular fertilization according to soil analysis results at every opportunity.
Kutlu suggests GÜBRETAŞ has organized farmer training meetings to promote social responsibility projects and conscious agriculture. “In order to promote good farming practices in Turkey every year, we, as GÜBRETAS, we bring more than 150 thousand farmers and agronomists together in more than 2 thousand points all across Turkey. Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Sahin, pointing to the importance of pistachios for the city, says pistachio is abundant for one year due to its genetic structure and yields less in the following year.
Suggesting they are trying to make the “no yield year” into “year of abundance”, Sahin says “We have carried out important works for this purpose. In order to increase the life span of our pistachio trees, we have introduced the seedlings of our male pistachio trees to the soil. In the continuation of these works, we wanted to comfort our producer. We met Agricultural Credit Cooperatives and GÜBRETAŞ. They also worked for us and showed our farmers a useful kind of fertilizer. We have taken action to give our pistachio producers 100 kilograms of fertilizer to test this product.
At the end of the meeting, after the presenting of the gifts given to commemorate the day, collective photographs were taken with the participation of the guests and the farmers.
