GÜBRETAŞ leads its sector within this social responsibility understanding and continues to supply added value for Turkey since its establishment. Our company who traditionalized corporate social benefit, serves the value gained from this land back to the people of this land.
Hence, GÜBRETAŞ was awarded a prize of Platin Elma Ödülleri in Social Responsibility Category in 2013.
A SIGNIFICANT PROJECT FOR THE SECTOR: SOIL PRODUCTIVITY MAP
Project of Soil Productivity Map was launched in 2005 in order to determine productivity values of our lands. In the framework of this project which is important for agriculture sector as data source; soil samples were collected from more than 11 thousand agricultural lands of 81 different cities in Turkey.
Macro-micro nutrients and soil properties are determined with the help of the soil samples that are analyzed in GÜBRETAŞ laboratories. The data obtained from the analysis results are transferred to digital media with their coordinates.
Moreover, “plant nutrition recipes” are created according to the analysis results and offered to producers as consultancy service. During the project more than 50 thousand farmers were given practical soil sampling education and conscious plant nutrition trainings in the field.
SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE: GÜBRETAŞ EDUCATION GRANT
GÜBRETAŞ gives non-refundable grants for students of Agricultural Faculties during their bachelor education since 2007.
More than 350 students so far were benefited GÜBRETAŞ education grant within the frame of Education Grant Project that also includes M.Sc. and PHD students.
SCHOOL BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED TO SUPPORT EDUCATION
GÜBRETAŞ constructed two new school buildings in Hatay and Kocaeli cities by social responsibility motives for the memory of its 60th establishment anniversary.
GÜBRETAŞ Secondary School with 1920 students capacity in İskenderun region of Hatay city was launched in 2013 with a ceremony, has become one of the most remarkable schools in the region. Construction of GÜBRETAŞ Primary School with 24 classrooms and 720 students in Başiskele region of Kocaeli city was also completed and put into service for education.
GÜBRETAŞ MEMORIAL FORESTS
GÜBRETAŞ embarks on sustainable environmental awareness for a better World initiated a Memorial Forest in 2007 in Konya city.
Another GÜBRETAŞ Memorial Forest was also established in 2014 by underplanting 10 thousand tree on the way to Şile-Ömerli in İstanbul.
CORPORATE PUBLISHING ABOUT THE SECTOR: GÜBRETAŞ LIBRARY
In the 60th establishment anniversary of our company, the project named “GÜBRETAŞ Library” started in order to contribute agricultural awareness especially among our stakeholders by publishing educational and academic reference books.
Morever, children books are published and given as present in order to raise an awareness about environment and agriculture among children in many schools all around Turkey.
PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST BRINGS AGRICULTURE AND ART TOGETHER
Press Photography Contest named “Bu Toprağın Renkleri (Colors of This Land)” started in 2012 became a crucial project pioneering cultural and art activities in agricultural sector. Contest jury contains many talented press photographers, aims to enrich visual archieve and increase the attention of local press to agriculture.
TRAINING MEETINGS AND AGRICULTURAL CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR CONSCIOUS AGRICULTURE
GÜBRETAŞ, works on promoting good farming practices and conscious agricultural activities contributes to increase productivity and reach qualified yields in every spot of Turkey by arranging training meetings not only for farmers but also for agricultural engineers and serving consultancy lines.
Training meetings are held every year in different spots of Turkey by participation of thousands of farmers and agricultural engineers. GÜBRETAŞ agricultural engineers specifically inform farmers about balanced and regular fertilizing, plant nutrition techniques, soil analysis and how to grow agricultural products according to features of region.
Preparing a scientific plant nutrition prescription also covers an important role among the consultancy services GÜBRETAŞ gives for farmers face to face.
Moreover, GÜBRETAŞ establishes “model plant production fields” to grow qualified and fertile crops according to scientific methods. In these fields, plant nutrition programs are fallowed were created based on soil analysis and according to the features of region and plant type. Results taken in model plant production fields are shared with local farmers in “farm and garden days”.
Technological means in consultancy lines are also used to generalise conscious agricultural production. Producer Call Center and Whatsapp Hotline give agricultural consultancy and answer farmers’ questions free of charge. Farmers can reach our agricultural engineers whenever they need to ask questions about plant nutrition.
EGP (Effective Fertilizing Program) is the first plant nutrition application online in Turkey. Any farmer has smart phone can immediately reach more than 50 plant nutrition programs online with EGP.
