New Microbiology Laboratory launched in 69th anniversary of GÜBRETAŞ
GÜBRETAŞ, founded in 1952 and continues to increase the productivity of agricultural production in our country, celebrated the 69th anniversary of its establishment at Yarımca Facilities. The opening ceremony of the Microbiology Laboratory establishment within the R&D Center was also held at the event attended by executive managers and facility employees.
GÜBRETAŞ was established as the first company of the chemical fertilizer industry by the signature of Prime Minister o Adnan Menderes on November 6, 1952, has been continuing its contribution to increase agricultural productivity with its plant nutrition products for 69 years. Turkey’s first fertilizer factory started operatingby GÜBRETAŞ in Iskenderun in 1954 and another one was 
established in Kocaeli in 1961. Yarımca Facilities in built in Kocaeli city has pioneered to introduce many years farmers with new chemical fertilizer products.
GÜBRETAŞ keeps its steady growth with the strong synergy built especially after 2002 with its main shareholder of Turkey Agricultural Credit Cooperatives. The company in this period rose to the top among the biggest companies in Turkey while increasing its market activities with domestic and foreign investments.
As the pioneer of the sector, GÜBRETAŞ, has contributed to the country’s agriculture with its efforts to generalise conscious farming techniques, R & D studies and facility investments for years besides its innovative products, celebrated the 69th anniversary of its establishment at Yarımca Facilities in Kocaeli. In the event, where General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı, executive managers and employees met, the recently constructed Microbiology Laboratory was also launched.
GM YUMAKLI: “WE CARE FOR R&D WORKS TO INCREASE AGRICULTURAL EFFICIENCY”
Speaking at the event held at Yarımca Facilities, GÜBRETAŞ General Manager İbrahim Yumaklı evaluated the position of the company in agricultural sector. Stating that Yarımca Facilities is an important point that brings production, R&D and investments of the company together, Yumaklı also said, “GÜBRETAŞ, established with the signature of the Prime Minister of that time Adnan 
Menderes is one of the most important industrial investments in order to fertilize agriculture in our country. GÜBRETAŞ has been protecting its mission for 69 years with its products, innovative services and investments that add value to the country’s economy by breaking grounds in the sector since 1952. In line with this mission, we are on the same path to fertilize Anatolian lands with the products we deliver to the farmers, as well as our agricultural consultancy activities and the generalisng of ood farming techniques”.
Stating that they commemorate those who contributed to the company’s achievement today with respect and gratitude, İbrahim Yumaklı said, “Today, we hold our activities with the responsibility of carrying GÜBRETAŞ to a stronger future together with our employees carrying this service flag. For this purpose, GÜBRETAŞ’s innovative perspective towards providing benefit to humans and agriculture always goes hand in hand with the development of science and technology in the world. ANOTHER R&D STEP FROM GÜBRETAŞ: MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY
Reminding that they opened the R&D Greenhouse in cooperation with Gebze Technical University two weeks ago within the scope of the research and development activities they have focused on recent years, Yumaklı said, “Today, we are excited and happy to launch the Microbiology 
Laboratory in Yarımca Facilities in 69th establishment anniversary of our company. Microbiology studies is a field that is highly concentrated around the world. As GÜBRETAŞ, we aim to be a pioneer in microbial fertilizer studies that will benefit the agriculture of the country with the new laboratory we have established, “he said.
Stating that new products will be developed that will make great contributions to GÜBRETAŞ as well as the agriculture sector and the national economy in the medium and long term in the Microbiology Laboratory, İbrahim Yumaklı expressed their plans as, “As a result of the new ideas to be produced in this laboratory, we can reduce dependency of raw materials in our sector with an environment friendly and sustainable approach to make a benefit of our own resources more effectively. I hope we will start to see the results of this as soon as possible ”.
Ibrahim Yumaklı said “Agriculture is one of the most precious treasure of this country,” moreover stated: “We are together with our products and our other field activities, to transform Turkey’s potential in agriculture and strengthen farmers and our country’s benefits will continue our same work diligently” and launched the laboratuvary.
NEW GENERATION PRODUCTS FOR THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE WILL DEVELOPED IN MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY
GÜBRETAŞ, has been carrying out laboratory activities effectively for some years to protect the quality and reliability of the products offered to our farmers and to develop new product patterns that increase agricultural productivity, has established the Microbiology Laboratory for new generation fertilizer studies.
The company decided to establish a Microbiology Laboratory in 2019, with modern equipments in order to develop new generation fertilizers with high technological content and to carry out biotechnological studies within the GÜBRETAŞ R&D Center. The laboratory construction in Yarımca, started at the end of 2019, andwas completed in a very short time. After the installation of the necessary technological equipment, microbiology and biochemistry experts who will carry out product development activities were employed and Microbiology Laboratory of GÜBRETAŞ which was constructed last summer, has started its activities.
In GÜBRETAŞ Microbiology Laboratory, studies will be carried out to isolate, diagnose and transform non-pathogenic microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, etc.) into a product form that can be applied to the soil (microbial fertilizer) from microorganisms with a wide variety of features and characteristics in the soil.

Publishing a message for the 69th anniversary Dr. Fahrettin Poyraz said that “Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives became the main shareholder of the GÜBRETAS by customizing held Turkey in 1993 and GÜBRETAŞ possess a strong cooperation spirit also noted that fertilizer sales volumes for the last 19 years they strengthen the market leadership increased by around 300%.
