Gübre Fabrikaları pleased its investors

Stocks of Gübre Fabrikaları pleased its investors. According to a report by Fortune Turkey that assesses performance of companies whose stocks are traded on the ISE (Istanbul Stock Exchange); shares that Gübre Fabrikaları ranked first in investor profitability in 2007-2008 period. Investor profitability consists of dividend payments and capital gains combined.

Stocks of Gübre Fabrikaları started to rise from the first days of 2008 and by the end of the year its investors reaped good gains. When the stock price peaked in July 2008, those who sold at that level profited 700 % and those who waited the end of the year profited 300 %. The fact that Gübre Fabrikaları showed this performance at a time when ISE was going down in parallel to the stock exchanges around the world made the gains of the investors more meaningful.

Fortune also published the results of the Top 500 Companies of Turkey survey in its July 2009 issue. GÜBRETAŞ ranked 43rd in net sales volume in 2008. Last year, GÜBRETAŞ ranked 103rd on the list.

In Fortune’s assesment companies are ranked according to net sales, net profits-losses, total assets, equity capital, profitability and export performance. GÜBRETAŞ ranked 43rd on the list after increasing its sales by 103 % over the previous year. GÜBRETAŞ was 6th among the companies which increased their sales most. GÜBRETAŞ had profound success in export performance as well. After the acquisition of Razi Petrochemical, GÜBRETAŞ increased its exports by 4000 % over 2007, which earned itself the 5th place in Turkey.

GÜBRETAŞ was among the top companies in net profits and total assets categories. GÜBRETAŞ ranked 35th in profits-losses category of Fortune 500 with 103 million liras; and 31st in the total assets category with 1,858 million liras.

In sector-based listings GÜBRETAŞ ranked 2nd in the chemicals sectors. In the chemical fertilizers sector, GÜBRETAŞ is by far the leader.
